About Us
Hello to all, allow me to formally introduce myself; I’m Maria, owner and lead wedding coordinator of InStyle Wedding Planners. It's a company that I dreamed of having in 2005 when fresh out of university I realized I didn’t want to pursue a career in law enforcement after all. Taking some time off to figure things out I began sifting through my options. Not wanting to rush into a decision I put my plans on hold until after my summer holiday to Italy to celebrate my cousin's wedding. Somewhere between her romantic ceremony, stunning yet simple reception and course after course of amazing cuisine, I decided that I wanted to devote myself to creating the most magical of weddings. Back on Canadian soil, I enrolled in the Wedding Planners Institute of Canada wedding planner program and a short bit later I launched InStyle Wedding Planners.
Looking back at my humble beginnings, it's as though nothing fits me quite as well as being a wedding consultant. Creativity, originality, personality and every other possible “ity” that you’d want your wedding planner to have, I’ve got! Let’s not forget highly organized (almost compulsively some may say, I've organized my shoe closet by colour and heel height) which I’ve got down to a science. I’m a total perfectionist and of course, an absolute hopeless romantic; I love love love the cue card scene from "Love Actually", I can't get through "The Notebook" without oohing and aahing, my mascara runs every single time I watch "P.S. I Love You" and I've watched "Dirty Dancing" including this time, as I write this bio, well over a 100 times . . . "Nobody puts Baby in a corner" . . . I've always wanted to say that!!!
The team at InStyle Wedding Planners love being creative and original; we believe our clients and their weddings should be original too. No two couple is alike, so why should any two weddings be? If you’re looking for a wedding planner who will duplicate the exact image you tore out of a magazine we probably won’t be the best fit, but if you are looking for a wedding planner that takes that magazine image and makes it your own, then we are surely your best choice.
